Ronald “Red” Roy Sample, 74, of Findlay, passed away on Friday, June 4, 2021 at Blanchard Valley Hospital. Born on December 5, 1946 in Findlay, he was the son of the late Norman and Naomi (Brown) Sample. On May 11, 2007, Red and Vicki Wolfinger were united in marriage and she survives.
Red was a Carey High School graduate and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Red worked for Whirlpool and retired after 39 years. Red was also past owner of the Walnut Saloon between 1976 and 1978.
Red is survived by his loving wife, Vicki; stepsons, Jim (Ardith) Slaughterbeck, John (Jamie) Slaughterbeck; and stepdaughter, Teri Slaughterbeck. In addition, he is also survived by four stepgrandchildren.
Friends and family may visit from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 11th in the funeral home with Pastor Jim Klausing officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Bloom Cemetery with the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad conducting military rites.
