Samuel Steven Bernola, 55, of Findlay, passed away at 2:05 a.m. on July 29, 2020 at Bridge Hospice Care Center. He was born in Findlay on August 30, 1964 to Niki (William) Laube and James (Alice) Bernola (they survive). Steve married Loretta (Rashiti) Bernola in 1996, they later divorced. She survives along with their sons Hunter Bernola, Seth Bernola, and Roman Bernola (all of Denver, CO). He is also survived by his son Evan McGee and his mother Robyn McGee (Atlanta, GA). His surviving sisters are Kasey Bernola, Abby (Robert) Johnson, Jayme (Steve) Dillon (all of Findlay, OH) and Tammy (Chad) Shaffer (Shelbyville, KY). Steve is survived by a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved Nanny, Evelyn Knouse. Additional grandparents that preceded him are Norval and Anne Knouse, Albert (Batter) and Ann Bernola, Al and Margie Laube. His niece Chantel Johnson, and nephew Chaz Johnson.
Steve was a 1983 Findlay High School graduate and served in the United States Navy from 1983 to 1986. He later graduated Summa Cum Laude from The University of Findlay. He enjoyed his work as a Commodity Trader, most recently in Dubai, United Arab Emirates with dear friends and business partners Dardi Shaqiri and Rolf Brati. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan. Steve loved the martial arts and working out. He won numerous awards and trophy in martial arts and kickboxing.
A visitation memorial for Steve will be held Friday, August 7, 2020 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). The family respectfully requests that masks be worn and to do your best with social distancing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Patient Services.
