Walter Edward Kramb, 93, of Fostoria, passed peacefully from this life the morning of April 29, 2020 in the comfort of his home with his loving wife and family at his side. Born on May 21, 1926, in Sandusky County, Ohio, he was the son of the late Lewis and Anna (Bauer) Kramb. He married Joan M. Nye on September 4, 1950 in St. Wendelin Catholic Church and she preceded him in death on September 12, 1996. On June 13, 1998, Walter and Virginia A. (Parsell) Jordan were united in marriage at St. Wendelin Catholic Church.
Walter was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. Walter was a 1944 graduate of St. Wendelin High School, and retired after 25 years of service with the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria and a Life Member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1197.
Walter is survived by his wife, Ginny of 21 years; his children, Daniel (Annie) Kramb, Delaware, OH, Andrew (Debra) Kramb, Waynesville, OH, Laura (Frank) Brodman, Republic, OH, Ann (Mark) Laws, Maumee, OH, and Marie (Peter) Campbell, LaPorte, IN; step-children, Cindy (Mark) Distel, of Fostoria, Tina (David) Hufford Sr., of Tiffin, and Gary (Teresa) Jordan, of Fostoria; a sister, Helen (Robert) Cochie, of Fostoria; and he was blessed with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Walter was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert, Carl, Edwin “Jack”, William, and Thomas; sisters, Sister Mary Loisann Kramb SND, Mary Reinhard, and Rita (Matthew) Fox.
Faithful to Jesus through the teachings of the Catholic Church. Walter also loved the great outdoors and often told his family “keep your children close to nature and you will keep them close to God.”
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 4, 2020 at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, 323 N. Wood St., Fostoria, OH 44830 with Msgr. Marvin Borger and Fr. Doug Taylor celebrating. Interment will follow in St. Wendelin Cemetery. A private family visitation will be held Sunday, May 3, 2020 at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). Memorial contributions in Walter’s memory may be made to St. Wendelin Parish for Mass Intentions.
